Training at this time of the year can be tough when it’s dark and cold! So, we will be running our January MyZone Challenge to help start your year STRONG.
The challenge is simple: earn as many MyZone Effort Points (MEPs) as you can for your team by the end of January. The team with the most MEPs wins!
Remember, every movement is worth a MEP and every MEP adds up! So regardless of how you earn your MEPs it will all count towards the team totals.
The PP coaches are the team captains – so keep an eye out for your invite to take part in the challenge.
Coffee and Catch Up – Saturday 26 February
It’s not all sweat and grind at the Performance Project! On Saturday 26 February the PP team will be hosting a member chat and chill with coffee and pastries at our lovely sister venue Mincka for all our members.
We’ll be at Mincka on Perrymount Road in Haywards Heath from 12pm onwards.
It’s always great to catch up with friends and coaches without feeling too breathless – and of course eat pastries! So if you fancy a coffee, chill, chat and something sweet, come along!
Brighton Half Marathon – Sunday 27 February
On Sunday 27 February Performance Project takes on the Brighton Half Marathon.
Are you looking for a challenge? Look no further, as Performance Project coaches Tyler and Emma are running the Brighton Half Marathon and want you on the start line with them.
The Performance Project team will encourage and support you throughout your training journey and on the all important day we will be there in numbers to celebrate you completing the distance.
The course is fast and flat and takes in many of Brighton’s iconic sights. Perfect for experienced runners, charity runners and anyone keen to run their first half marathon,
Starting on Madeira Drive the route takes you on a scenic tour of Brighton and loops back around to end with a two mile run past the colourful beach huts of Hove, bringing you back to the Peace Statue and onto the road for the last dash to the finish on Madeira Drive.
Whether you are an experienced runner or someone looking to complete your first half marathon, this will be an awesome opportunity to test yourself both physically and mentally!
PP x Madisons Games Day – Saturday 26 March
Show us your game face!
Games Day invites members of the two resident gyms of Haywards Heath to get together to go head to head in a series of team workouts.
The workouts will be designed to be challenging and to provide everyone with a focussed and competitive outlet.
This will be your chance to put your hard work over the first three months of the year to the test alongside other members of the gym community. The day will be led by the Performance Project and the Madisons coaches and held across the two venues.
So if you are after a bit of friendly competition and want to represent your gym, get this one in your diary!
Brighton Marathon – Sunday 10 April
Performance Project takes on its first Marathon event! Join us on Sunday 10 April for the Brighton Marathon.
Coaches Tyler and Emma and a group of PP members will be tackling the famous distance and we want you all there to support them on this epic challenge.
We will pop up at various checkpoints to cheer the team around the course and enjoy a celebratory drink when everyone crosses the finish line!
The Brighton Marathon is on Sunday 10 April and starts at Preston Park at 9.45am, before snaking its way through Brighton city centre, along the glorious seafront and finishing at the iconic Madeira Drive in front of thousands of cheering spectators.
Post-race you can celebrate with friends and family in the huge Beach Village complete with shopping, food, drink and big screens.
Coffee and Cake morning at Mincka – Date TBC
Coffee and Cake? Wait – aren’t you a gym?!
Here at PP, we appreciate all the good things in life – including coffee and cake! This month the PP Team will be hosting a coffee and cake morning up at Mincka from 11am-1pm for all our members.
It is always great to catch up with friends and coaches without feeling too breathless – and of course eat cake! So if you fancy a coffee, chill, chat and a baked good of some sort, come along!
PP Summer Cycle – Date TBC
Unite with coaches and fellow PP members to pedal 50k to Brighton and back.
Our route begins at Performance Project and will see us take on the monumental challenge that is Ditchling Beacon, before reaching Brighton.
We will then head back to Haywards Heath and our local venue Mincka for some well-deserved coffee and cake.
Whether you are an experienced rider or someone new to cycling, this will be a great opportunity to test yourself and try something new with the PP community.
Big Walk – Lewes Three Peaks – Date TBC
In July we will be taking on a hiking challenge across the infamous South Downs. A PP team will tackle the popular Lewes Three Peaks route.
This lovely but challenging circular route features the three peaks of Mount Caburn, Firle Beacon, and Kingston Ridge. Plan to be awed by the view from the top of Firle Beacon!
In total the walk is a 30.4km loop trail starting in Lewes, East Sussex. The vertical gain is 912m. At the end we will, of course, reward ourselves with some well-earned food and quite possibly a pint in a local pub!
We love getting outdoors in nature just as much as we love training hard in the gym so this is the perfect challenge to enjoy the beautiful countryside and landscapes that the South Downs offers us while pushing ourselves to our mental and physical limits. All while enjoying the company of our fellow PP members.
Summer BBQ – Date TBC
BBQ season has truly arrived and what better excuse to get everyone together and celebrate our seventh year at our current PP home!
Our annual summer social is always held at a local venue in Sussex and is a chance for everyone at PP to catch up, enjoy a good drink and chow down on some great food – hopefully all in the sunshine.
Members, family, friends and doggos are always welcome – and this is one you won’t want to miss!
Obstacle Course Race – Date TBC
Tough Mudder or Spartan?!
Whatever we choose, the best part is that both races are local as they are only a 20-minute drive away from the PP Gym.
Each obstacle race involves a series of obstacles and mud runs that will push your physical and mental limits without the pressure of competition. The idea is that any course length attempted is completed as a team, overcoming obstacles and stepping outside your comfort zone together.
Want a reason to train? Ask yourself this – when was the last time you did something for the first time?
Halloween Quiz – Date TBC
Time to resurrect the Performance Project Halloween Quiz Night, get dressed up and show off your general knowledge and PP knowledge skills!
The PP Team will be hosting the Halloween Quiz Night at our local venue Mincka. Snacks and drinks will be available but you are more than welcome to bring your own devilish delights to feast on too.
So we call on Creepy Creepers, Ghoulish Ghouls, Horrific Horrors, Skeletal Skeletons, Wicked Witches, and Wondering Werewolves! Or any film or TV characters, celebrities… bin-bags even! There are no rules apart from getting yourself on a team and having a good time.
Showdown – Date TBC
Showdown is one of our most popular social events and is a great opportunity to bring everyone together and have some fun – all for a good cause.
PP Members come together and sign up to take part in intense workouts, gruelling cardio challenges and/or provide and eat the goods from the best bake sale in town! Any money raised on the day is donated to our chosen charity.
It is designed to be challenging but open to all as there truly is something for everyone on Showdown day!
Xmas party – Date TBC
Here at PP, we start the year strong … but we finish even stronger with our Christmas Party!
As one of the biggest events in our social calendar, coaches, members, friends and family of PP all come together for an evening to catch up, get the festive feels flowing and celebrate the end of another year.
Among drinks, laughs and a good dance, our Christmas Party also features our Annual Awards Ceremony for our members – so this is one you definitely do not want to miss! We hope you crack out the sparkle and we will see you there!
